Supplemental Medical Coverage

In addition to enrolling in a medical plan, you can enroll in the following benefits through Aflac for additional coverage. If you enroll, the cost for coverage will be conveniently deducted via your paycheck.

Critical Illness Insurance

This coverage pays a lump-sum benefit directly to you if you are diagnosed with a covered illness (for example, heart attack, cancer, stroke, end-stage kidney failure, or major organ transplant). You can use the payment for whatever you want (medical expenses, transportation, mortgage payments, household help, etc. There are no health questions or physical exams required to enroll! If you experience more than one covered illness or have a recurrence of a covered illness, you may be eligible for additional benefits depending on when the illnesses occur.

Coverage Options

  • For you: $10,000, $20,000, or $30,000
  • For your spouse/domestic partner: An amount equal to 50% of your coverage amount
  • For your child(ren): each eligible dependent child is automatically covered for an amount equal to 50% of the amount of your coverage

Accident Insurance

This coverage provides benefits for many services, including an ambulance ride, use of the emergency room, surgery, anesthesia, stitches, and casts. It pays benefits directly to you when you are injured (on or off the job) as a result of a covered accident. You can use your payment for whatever you want. There are no health questions or physical exams required to enroll!

Coverage Options

You have two options when choosing Accident Insurance — the High Plan or the Low Plan. The benefits you receive will depend on your treatments and injuries, with the High Plan paying more generous benefits than the Low Plan. You also may elect coverage for your spouse/domestic partner and/or dependent children.
