Pet Insurance
Your pets are part of the family, too. Voluntary pet insurance can help pay for eligible treatment related to accidents and illnesses, giving you added financial protection when your pet needs care.
How the Plan Works
The PetPartners Accident & Illness Plan provides coverage for eligible veterinary services related to accidents and illnesses that occur after coverage begins and any applicable waiting periods have been satisfied. (Note: Pre-existing conditions are not covered.) Covered services include:
- Emergency veterinary care
- Diagnostic testing and treatment
- Prescription medications prescribed by a veterinarian
- Surgery and hospitalization
- Injuries from accidents, such as fractures, burns, poisoning, animal bites and foreign body ingestion
- Illness-related care and treatment
Base Plan Coverage
The plan includes:
- $250 annual deductible per covered pet
- 70% reimbursement (coinsurance) after the deductible is met
- $5,000 annual benefit maximum per covered pet
Additional Covered Benefits
The plan also includes coverage for certain specialized services, subject to plan provisions, waiting periods, deductibles, coinsurance and applicable limits:
- Rehabilitation and physical therapy
- Inherited and congenital conditions, such as hip dysplasia and certain birth defects
- Alternative therapies, including acupuncture and chiropractic care
- Behavioral care
- Final respects benefit for cremation or burial expenses following a covered pet’s death or humane euthanasia
Optional Wellness Coverage
You may elect an optional wellness benefit that helps cover routine preventive care expenses, including:
- Rabies vaccinations
- Preventive vaccines
- Flea and tick prevention
- Heartworm prevention
- Heartworm or feline leukemia testing
- Blood, fecal and parasite testing
- Urinalysis
- Spay or neuter procedures
- Microchipping
- Preventive wellness exams
Eligibility
- Coverage is available for dogs and cats ages 8 weeks through 10 years when enrolled.
- Pets age 11 and older are not eligible for new enrollment.
- Once enrolled, pets may remain covered with no maximum expiration age under the policy.
